My raku kiln, built out of two 55 gallon drums, lined with ceramic fiber. I fire to around 2000 degrees fahrenheit. |
The kiln is wenched up to allow me to get to pieces. | |
Piece is put into a "nest" of hay, with metal tongs. |
Piece is covered with another barrel, which causes a reduction. Piece is taken out later and washed off. | |
